LCPC Easter Celebration April 12th - Join Us!

Come join in the EASTER Celebration at Lake City Presbyterian Church 

Why the celebration? JESUS IS RISEN! 

Have you been wanting to bring or invite a friend or family member to church? Here is a great opportunity to do it. Worship, free breakfast, and an Easter Egg Hunt for the kiddos so make sure they bring their easter baskets (we'll have some bags on hand for collecting as well).

Drop-In and Play Time @ Lake City Pres 1:30 pm to 4:00pm

Hi Friends

I just wanted to give you a heads up that we now have two new Drop-In Playtimes at Lake City Presbyterian Church.

Drop-In and Play time is a time you can just drop in anytime between the open hours and hang out with your kiddos in our Nursery. Meet some new people or invite your friends to join you, sit down and relax and let your children blow off some steam.  Pass the word on to others you know with children Ages 0-4 who might be interested in this.

Wednesday mornings – 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (noon)

Thursday afternoons – 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Tuesdays are no longer an option – sorry if that is an inconvenience, I hope you’ll be able to visit on our new days!

30 Hour Famine Retreat on February 27-28

Hey There! 

30 Hour Famine Retreat on February 27-28 for youth in Grade 6 - 12.

We have a great line up of activities planned including worship rally & activities at Overlake Christian Church in Redmond the evening of the 27th and then our group will be involved in a variety of service projects on Saturday the 28th. 

Please RSVP your interest to Leena by Sunday Feb. 8th. I'm going to be on vacation Feb. 12-24th and have 12 days to get most of this planned.

Friends are welcome to participate. Please have them RSVP by Feb. 8th as well.

30 HOUR FAMINE -- YOU ASK ?? THAT MEANS NO FOOD FOR 30 HOURS RIGHT? THAT'S JUST CRAZY!!

General Schedule:

* Famine starts at 12noon or after your lunch on the 27th. (Then drink lots of water and juice for the rest of the day)

If for medical reasons you are unable to do a full food fast - you can still participate we'll create an alternative fast (let you hide behind a corner to eat some food!)

* Come together around 5pm at Lake City Pres start the retreat portion of the famine. 

And lots of service opportunities (oh, and you can get 30 community service hours for this if you need it!).

Children's Christmas Joy Art Contest 2009
	Invite the children of your congregation to help us create art for the Christmas Joy Offering. Any child younger than 15 as of January 1, 2009, is eligible to submit art to the Christmas Joy Offering art contest. Each child can submit one or two pieces of art representing his or her vision of the Christmas story. The art should be received in our offices by January 30, 2009. The art should be submitted on an 8.5" x 11" sheet of paper and sent to Christmas Joy Offering Art Contest, Office of Special Offerings, 100 Witherspoon Street, Louisville, KY 40202-1396. The name, age, and home church of the artist (including city and state) should be printed clearly on the back of all artwork. The Office of Special Offerings will own the right to use any submitted artwork in our Web, print, or other resources. We cannot return submitted art. Winners will be selected in three age groups: ages 2–6, 7–10, and 11–14. The winning art pieces and the names of the artists will be featured on the kids4kids and Christmas Joy Offering Web sites and in our 2009 (and possibly beyond) Christmas Joy Offering resources. Fall 2008 Middle/High School Youth Update Happenings @ Lake City Pres

This Sunday, September 21st Hike - Let’s Take A Hike ~ all ages welcome
On Sunday Sept. 21, join us for a 2 mile round trip hike in the Denny Creek area. It is designed to be an easy family friendly hike. Next Wednesday, September 24th – See You at the Pole – 7 a.m. Your school. Children & youth join classmates for prayer at your school’s flag pole at 7:00 a.m. Contact your school or student leaders to find out more information. http://www.syatp.com/info/

Next Sunday, September 28th – Communion Informational Class during worship for children and youth 4th grade and higher. Jackie Brotnov will be leading a lesson on all the ins and outs of Communion for the 4th -6th grade class, older youth who are waiting for preparation before taking communion – here is your chance! If this date doesn’t work out for your family, please contact Leena Prindle, in the church office and we can work out other arrangements for your child(ren).

Next Middle School Grapple Group: For youth Grades 6-8 interested in hanging out with kids their age and Grappling together to figure out “Why should I trust God?” “Is there even really a God?” “What if I mess up?” and “Can’t you just leave me alone?”. Let’s Grapple with this God thing together – Sundays beginning September 28th in the Tween classroom from 11:30 a.m. -1pm. Includes grub, games, and techy stuff too! Contact Leena Prindle for a parent permission slip (will come soon attached to an email as well).

High School Get Togethers: Calling all youth grades 9-12. Sundays from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. beginning Sunday September 28th. This is a time catered to, yes-YOU! Connect with others your age. Chat about issues that you are concerned about. Talk about music, eat some food, and hangout. Designed to help you work on your faith – and even respect if you have a lack of faith for now - and have fun doing it. Bring yourself, invite your friends – especially the ones who are bored and don’t go to church!

October 26th –Slime Time Halloween Party, 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Gobs of games, tons of treats, and a life-changing message that’ll last long after all that candy is gone! This is a family event with games for toddler, preschool, and elementary age children! If you (youth and adults) would like to help out with this event in any form - publicity, games lead/assistant, greeter, food provider, etc contact Leena to join the team!
